If the plan before you is hard to do or costly, it is unlikely that you have wisdom from God in dealing with the issue.
If you are striving with a neighbor and decide to take action, there will be confusion and every evil work, according to Bible.
Bible identifies the wisdom from God as follows:
James 3
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

If you "yoke" yourself to other human beings of this world, putting a type of invisible chain around you and attaching it to them, you are going in the way of this world.
You will find yourself trying to please them, to achieve things to impress them, to have a good reputations among them by doing that which they consider right, trying to create an image made in the image of man.
I've heard individuals say, "My God would never do that!" ...
As they cast aside scripture which conflicts with their own desire.
In such cases, their "God" is the god of this world, so they are probably correct in what that say, "Their god would not do scripture."
But the God who created the heavens and the earth and inspired the Bible shows us HIS will by HIS Spirit and opens our eyes to see HIS truth by HIS Word.
If we are of God, we have been given the Spirit of God to dwell in us and to lead us in the ways of God.

Jesus says:
Mt. 11
Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take MY yoke upon you, and learn of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light.
If we are striving to achieve above others ... to rise to the top ... to be great ... to be famous ... to get more money ... to have a high reputation among men ... we are going the way of the world.
Paul says:
Phil. 2
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: WHO, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made HIMSELF of no reputation, and took upon HIM the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, HE humbled HIMSELF, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted HIM, and given HIM a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Are you trying to make a reputation for yourself ... if so, this is a problem.
There was a point in my life where I focused strongly on what I was doing in this area.
Was I trying to make a reputation for myself in any way?
(most of us probably were ... but we are no longer of the world but are new creations in Christ ... now going in the way of Christ.)

And we must come to understand this:
"Our kingdom is not of this world."
We have a better inheritance laid up for us by God as HIS children. Like those who have gone before us we see the invisible and make that our desire, our goal.
Heb. 11 ... These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for HE hath prepared for them a city.
