Before Jesus returns for the believers, there will be "a falling away" where churches fall away from scripture and set up doctrines opposite from scripture. II Thessalonians 2:3
In the NASB, this "falling away" is called the apostasy.
We read, in II Thessalonians 2:3, that the day of the Lord will not come until this apostasy takes place in the temple of God, in the church.
The apostle Peter told us how we should live as we await for the coming of Jesus.
II Peter 3:10-14 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Communicating with God through prayer by taking all troubles to God and waiting for God to bring HIS solutions is the only way we are going to be able to live in peace in the midst of the problems of this world.
This book concerns the end times and living in peace, without spot, and blameless.
